Because of the inactivity of some of the boards... I'm going to cut them, but only if there is a general agreement.

The idea for them was good in theory, but it really just sucked once implemented. They got to go, no question.

FEA GAME, FEA GAME SCRIPT and Coding and Scripting

These three just have lost all interest in about 95% of all of the members. I see no reason to keep them around.

Boards that are slowly falling from graces

The Debate forum might be made into a subcategory of General Fire Emblem Discussion. The Advertisement Forum never gets much topics, so that might have to go as well.


If you have any objections, please post them here. Or any improvements as well. Remember, just because the Board is being deleted does not mean that the topics will. The topics will stay(for the benefit of searching and other things that shan't be known to your eyes, but only to mine).

I agree with canning all of those except the advertising forum.

Debate and Political need to go. They're so...pointless now.

I think we should keep the FEA Game boards. We could in theory revive it. But as long as the topics aren't deleted, it should be fine.

The Debate board should probably be a sub-category of General FE, I think.

Advertisement needs to be kept. It's too essential.

The game died. There's no need to have the board there anymore. I want to make the board look a little smaller.

And if Advertisement is crucial, how come the last post was August 31st?

Because advertising comes with new members, and most of the members who are actually active here came when this place first opened. If we gain new members I reckon the board will be used a lot more *nods*

Flare yo ucan delete the FEA Game, the revival probably don't work, your trying to make the board look smaller by eliminating the unused boards but don't axe the Coding and Scripting board! If yo umust have it off the main page then make it a subforum of General FE.

This reminds me of the issue we discussed, what was it, three months ago now?

As for board deletion, I'd say keep the serious discussion boards but combine them into one or delete the boards themselves and move the topics into general discussion. The others I think are alright to be destroyed.

The problem with inactivity on outlying forums won't be solved by just deleting forums, though. The main problem -- of which I am guilty of contributing to -- is that there are not enough posting members. It would hurt far more than it would help if we were to simply jump between one extreme of boards and another, since we would only end up alienating people.

No, deleting boards won't encourage posting. But if they're not being used, why take up all the room?

I think that rather than axe all of the FEA game topics, we should just move them into the coding board. I thought that, rather than create the whole game at once, we could just do portions at a time like character insertion. It'd be nice to have all the old topics to refer to.

Debate should just be a subsidary of General FE. I myself would have used it recently, but...

I believe Debate would do better were it integrated fully into the General FE forum, personally.

Yeah you should keep the advertising forum. You never know when someones gunna show up with something to advertise.

Well consider this. The mature FE fans come to FEA, that's what. 5 percent?
FEW and FEU get the remaining 95. I'm not criticizing, it's just something you deal with. I've been advertising everywhere and I get nothing. Sometimes you just need to play the hand you're dealt.

That feels like an exaggeration of sorts. Yeah, there's probably more members on the other sites, but 95%? Pff...

Anyway... More members join, but how many of them actually post past joining or their first post? Then you have post length and quality (and yeah, this is me being pedantic), but posts which contain 'lol thats funny' are easier to write. That leads to long looking topics in various places, which are basically filled with nothing but spam posts by 3 members (I can't really say anything on FEU, because I've honestly never visited, but this is how I feel about FEW).

Fizdiz, forums are not popularity contests. I'd rather have 1 decent member than 348290724803 spammers. Like I said before, FEA was for members of FEW to go to when the site fell. I'm not trying to make an EFED or FESS. It's a forum where we can talk to others about our anything. The fact that you're so vain makes me roll my eyes.
