let me contradict some things you said in a orderly fashion since there is so much to contradict.

lol this makes you look very....not smart. how does me training heather have anything at all to do with sothes training? I know sothe has to be used end game so I do train him as much as I would any other unit. heather and sothe are in different parts and probably wont see each other on the same field until endgame. Oh and btw you dont have to use sothe for all the parts of endgame.

"She starts with 3 less Strength than Sothe with a 6 level lead on him. She also only has 4 less Defense, making her rather fragile. Those stats are extremely important to combat."


.....shes a thief.....thiefs never have high STR or DEF. Their high speed and luck make them hard to hit so the defense wont matter....its their thing. Kind of funny that heathers defense growth is 10% higher than sothes. HTe fact that sothe has as much strength as he does puts him in a class of his own.....his own generic class of slow strong knife wielders.

"It's true that Heather is avalible for most of the game, but the only enemies she'll really be able to damage/kill would be Myrmidons, who aren't very common in this game. Mounted and Armoured units are much more common than Myrmidons, and she won't be able to kill either of them."

Sothe is available just as much as heather (11 chapters each part 1-3). yeah myrmidons....I guess she has no chance killing archers, staffs, and other magic users eh? and she can take on Halberdiers regardless of what you might think. I dont think their are that many paladins but there quite a few generals, no more than there are halberiers though.

"Sothe gains the same amount of experience as your other units when you reach Part 3, so it's very plausible that he may gain quite a few levels at that point, especially if you decide to forge him a Knife with full might to compliment his Strength."

No sir you cannot forge in part 3 cuz the twins went to help out ike.Even if you could the knife wouldnt last very long. Now the smart thing to have said would be that he can use beast killers in part 3 and destroy the laguz and my reply to that would have been that being able to destroy them so easily will result in a death for sothe if your not careful because they will keep coming as long as he keeps killing them and letting them in.

"Part 2 is arguably the hardest Part in the game, with a lack of good units and a surplus of overpowered enemies."

Part 2 is probably the best part in the game with mostly units returning from por. It has the best battle theme (excluding custom battle themes) in the game and all the characters are great. Lack of good units? Haar? Marcia? Nephenee? Kieran? Danved? Heather!?!? not to mention you can buy killer weapons from the shop in some of the chapters.The worst part about part 2 is that its too damn short.

"Heather is even worse. A 25% Strength growth ensures she can't kill ANYTHING that has even a little bit of defense, and 40% HP and 30% Defense means she'll be killed by anything and everything."

Look I've played this game 11 times and used heather plenty of times. Im not defending her like people defend mia in por (her case was her lack of str as well lols).Heather will get some strength unless you are terribly unlucky she will get kills if you know how to play fire emblem and make her attack weakened units and worst case scenario use a energy drop on her. all I'm trying to say is shes better than sothe and shes "a tad higher that worse".

I really don't like using either Heather or Sothe as really already said they are there to steal.

Yep. Past Part 1, neither has much combat utility.

Though which one is the overall better unit is a pretty interesting topic. As stated, Sothe is much better than Heather at combat, while Heather has the better utility value. Sothe is one of the best part 1 units, while Heather gives you incredible utility value in parts 2 and 3. They both suck in part 4.

I think it's pretty subjective.

Heather is better in part 4 because she can be promoted before having to go into combat unlike sothe which has to go into the prologue as a rouge and if you (you have no reason not to) make her go to Ikes group she will be very valuable on part 4 chapter 4 with all those chests and doors.
