» Binks' Emblem

Since a person seems to enjoy the idea as much as I do, looks like I'm going to make this a reality.

Anyways, Binks' Emblem is a grand tale about a green-haired mercenary. Binks, after being owned at Carcino, decides to buy a fortress in Renais and retire with the rest of his mercenaries. Life seems decent enough, until tax collectors hired by Pablo arrive, taking Binks' 5000 gold for "taxation". Infuriated, Binks goes on an adventure with trusty confidant Damian to find "that stinkin' Pablo" and take revenge for this misjustice.

Now, onto the technicalities. Binks' Emblem will be a modification of FE8. I hope to include these changes.

A new story and script for Erika's path, meant to reflect Binks' adventure for money.

Class modifications. Monsters will become more powerful, and some classes will have different names and properties.

Every playable character will be changed or modified. Erika becomes Binks and Seth into Damian, for example.

A balanced, entertaining gameplay that both casuals and hardcore gamers may enjoy.

Flashbacks detailing Binks' life in Carcino before being owned.

I'll be starting this today, so hopefully some screenshots'll be up by tonight. This is my first hack, so hopefully it'll be good enough.

















Alright, I've released a demo version of Binks' Emblem. To download, follow this link. To play Binks' Emblem, first patch your Fire Emblem: Sacred Stones (US version, remember) ROM with the patch named "Binks' Emblem". Place the patched ROM in the same folder as your GBA emulator, and rename the patch called "Text Patch" the same as your ROM file. Ensure the GBA emulator has soft-patching, and have fun!

A Demo patch for Binks' Emblem has been made. It goes so far to the end of Chapter 1.

Isn't Damian the guy from Chapter 17x (E) on FE7? The paladin with the Killing Edge?

yeah you are right I think.

But it is probably a coincedince.

Oh and what is in the demo just scripting or what?

No no, Damian is the same boss from Chapter 17x. I just haven't done any more modifications.

I'll be releasing the Chapter 5 patch by tomorrow, after doing some balancement of the characters (Currently, Adon, Knoll, and Carlyle are way too powerful) and making some finishing touches. Until then, enjoy some more screenshots in the first post.

sounds cool so far I may have to download FE8 to try this.

so you are adding in new characters(i saw murray) by this I mean will there be more characters than the original FE8?
